Of course DS9 is slow, the Space Station is stuck in place, so they have
to do more of character conflicts than fighting conflicts. There have
been many copies, but they don't make it. Babylon-4 (or was it
Babylon-5) Space Rangers, Dr. Who, Saturday Night Live segmants (oops,
did I say that? :-> ) They never get any publicity (except Babylon,
which had special effects that are to this time like Star Wars was to
it's time). But Star Trek TNG gets $1,000,000 (yup, 1 million dollars)
per show. That's why sometimes they avoid window shots, because the blue
screen for the stars costs so much.
