Ok: how about this for a clue. The word looks something like this:
    
   CCCVCCCCC, where 'C' is a consonant, and 'V' is a vowel.
   The vowel is 'e', and the last letter is 's'.
    
Second new clue: the first letter is 's.'
Third new clue: I've used the word in a message to you, recently.
