FO>Your death or the monster's death is the entire point of raising health.
FO>Thank you for proving my point for me. Anyhow, if you script you'd be
FO>much better off resting 30% of the time as opposed to 40%, because thats
FO>10% of the time you spend sitting there making no exp when you could be
FO>getting some exp. I really can't believe you kept 80 health until that
FO>level ;) What do you rest, like 4/16 with a quest ring on? ;) You're
FO>missing about 25 hps and you should be resting 6/20 at level 20 with a
FO>quest ring. Health is the make-or-break stat for nearly any character.
FO>I've been a ninja for more than half of my MajorMUD life, but hey, who
FO>trusts the experienced guys anyhow
So you're saying that chars with 80 health never get low on hps? Are you
loony or something? As to the resting, before level 20 I rested 4/16 (at
74 health I think) and when I hit level 20 and 77 health, I rested at
5/16. The resting bonuses are obviously not based on the same increments
as the other stat bonuses are or I'd have gotten a bonus at 80. From
what I've seen, it's based on class and level. My old level 18
witchunter rested 5/16 with 95 health (version 1.1e I think) and I
believe that's what my level 20 witchunter friend rested at without a
ring before he hit 20. Also, my level 21 warrior friend with 80 health
rests at the same 5/16 that I do and he got the bonus at level 20 just
like I did (though he had 80 health since the mid-teens). If you're
using a char for the sole purpose of scripting, then yes, health is what
matters. Unfortunately, that char will get whooped by the ninja that
chose to get 80 str first or 100 agil.
As to not trusting the "experienced guys" why should I trust someone
who's obviously incorrect? Having more "experience" simply means you've
been obviously incorrect for a longer time.
Experience doesn't always equal wisdom. Remember, experienced scholars
once thought the sun revolved around the earth.
