Now if you want to get fancy (like have several "overlays" all of which are
active for input/output), then your only choices are to either fake the areas
yourself (with cwarea and/or cursor xy calls)... or to open another /w on top
of the current window.  That requires turning off window protect, and being
careful to not scroll the screen under visible screen areas which you don't
want screwed up.
