Bill - thanks for jumping in. I need all the help I can get on this one! I've
tried a few variations, but no success. Just for the heck of it, I tried
changing the the fork command to "shell tr [a-z] [A-Z]; logout" but, no go. It
seems that the first section of the command (the fork to tr) is never finished
so the logout never takes either. I tried "shell tr [a-z] [A-Z]&" and this was
really interesting. Still a lockup, but procs showed neither the shell or TR.
Does this last one give anyone a hint?
I think that the key is that shell doen't get the EOF when the path is closed.
If it's closed--paths still shows that shell has pipe as its input path!
