Yes, I have the popen() source. It's part of the unixlb.ar in dl12. Have a look
at it and see if you can see anything funny there (shout if you want me to mail
you a copy). I sort of doubt that there is a problem there. I came up with my
own pipeline code (where this discussion started) and found the same problem. I
wonder, is there a chance that the file is not getting closed for some reason?
I did stick in an error check after the fclose() in pclose() and it reported a
0 (success). I'm really running out of ideas  on this...
