Right now, it seems you should go with a VME system. It's an industry standard
that has a wide variety of outstanding add-on cards.  If you cannot afford it,
and can roll your own stuff, you might try using the parallel port on an
Ultrascience PC add-on card.

These are 68000-based systems that fit in a PC.

Soon, my company is porting OSK to a 68030 board from Definicon that also fits
in a PC.
