Sb: #the **p syntax in 'C'

To: all
I have seen this syntax infrequently in college 'C' text and in source code,
but I have yet found a good explaination.
It is in reference to pointers and I beleieve it is called
'double indirection'??? the syntax is
char **p = & dummy or char **match(p,name) What does the **
actually say
