  Hmmm.. I originally used getch() (or was it getc()? ), but the difference is
that one returns an int and the other a *char.  Maybe I'll try casting the
result and see what happens.
  Wouldn't it be nice if all popular (and not so popular) systems had
corresponding calls that worked alike??
