subject: rangers vs. ninja

FO>and agility.. then most likely strength. A ninja with 100 martial arts
FO>crits about 24%. You should listen to Victim because its the truth.
FO>Anyhow, "critical more often than not" is complete bull so at least say
FO>it sensibly, more like "criticals more often than an intellect-driven
FO>warrior" (Keep in mind that raising intellect by 5 when you have 100
FO>martial arts raises it by 4 if i remember right, and that only brings up
FO>the crit % by about 1%, which isnt a whole lot of a diff when you're
FO>talking about 24% going to 25%, but if you had 4 martial arts and went
FO>to 8 its a big step)
I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but I have only around 89 or 90ish
martial arts and I'm critting at 29% with a dragontooth in the wooden
passage at level 21. I can tell you right now that martial arts doesn't
mean squat when you're dealing with crit% because there's a level 13
mystic with a good 20 more martial arts than me and he crits less. I've
also seen a level 21 ranger use a multicolored sash to get around 70
martial arts and his crit% did not increase drastically. Whether you
want to believe it or not, from my experience, martial arts plays nearly
no role in anything. My crit% did NOT drop when I lost 20 or so MA with
the introduction of 1.1i (I think it was that version). Way back in
1.1g I had a mage with like 12 MA that crit around 15% at level 16 with
a rosewood. By your formula, I should have been critting at 3%.
