Denis - the 030 is compatible with the 000, but only from the user program side
of things.  A few system-state things change tho, from model to model. In other
words, a few sections of the kernel have to be changed, but otherwise
everything else would run just fine (apps, even drivers I'd think).

They (Motorola) figured that having to change the OS slightly was okay, as long
as user programs were still compatible.  I think they were right, because you'd
want to take advantage of new features in the kernel if possible, anyway.  best
