I can give you a little advice on a race for a mage and that is this.
1.) If you're having difficulties selecting a class, be a gnome for the
defense. Mages have only robes for armour and defense spells are a pain.
2.) They're a fairly basic class so you'll want 80 health at lvl 1, and
raise intellect only after that to 95. After that health to 95.
3.) Enjoy your mage. :>
