On the Amiga, if you run from Workbench (the GUI), you can assign a program to
a tool... for example, if you click on an icon that belongs to a picture, you
can have it automatically call up Deluxe Paint, or a picture-viewer, and pass
it whatever parameters are needful (usually automatic). For example, an
AmigaBASIC program with an icon would automatically startup AmigaBASIC and run
the program. I'm not singing the praises of the Amiga, just pointing out that
that kind of thing will be possible (even likely) in your GUI, since you know
the Amiga. Dunno how you could do that from the shell, tho. Hmm..
