Hi Pete,
  Thanks for your help. I'm using Wiz and the RS232-Pak to send this message. I
found a switch on the inside of the modem. The manual said the CTS is set to
forced on at the factory. But it was set to off. This is a used modem, so
someone has been inside. I was ready to give it up.
