M ³ It only takes one time to make a mistake and lock the brakes up and hit
M ³ a wall or go in the sand before you start thinking that ABS isn't that
M ³ bad. Look at how many times you see indy drivers lock their brakes up
M ³ during a race. What ABS does is takes the human factor out of braking.
M ³ I'm not a real big fan of ABS, but to the average Joe with averages
M ³ driving capabilities ABS is a lot more help than harm.

Don't you think that by having ABS available on their car, that some
people will be given a false feeling of having some sort of secret weapon
in their car that lets them drive irresponsibly? I'm talking particularly
about young males aged 18-25, but all age/gender combinations are likely to
have individuals who are prone to pushing the limits of their cars in an
irresponsible manner.
I would much rather rely on my skills as a driver than an elaborate
system of sensors and servos anytime. Granted, I may have better driving
skills than others, but those skills were developed through instruction and
experience. I think that rather than have ABS systems installed in all the
new cars, the states should spend more money in providing drivers skills
training classes. Oh well, that's just my opinion...
