Yes ... Mark had been working on that for quite a while ...but the lack of
spare time got the better of him. Some of it isn't functional, but the parts I
need (terminal and protocol transfers) do, so I was testing/using it.

The problem happens with the new version of screen. Didn't happen with the
original and doesn't happen on a plane terminal connection. It's obviously
_something_ to do with the screen/ptyman change.
