Has anyone used curses?

I am porting a  program that I wrote in Unix and I am having a problem
getting the screen to scroll.  I have scrollok(stdscr, TRUE) and I am
using scroll() to scroll the screen.  When I get to the botttom of the
screen it just stays there and outputs on the bottom line.

Any comments would be appreciated.

P.S.  I wrote a small test using termcap and it works, but I need the
      window capabilities in curses.
