Hi Bob,  You have to make a new 'rule' for make.  Here's the lines to add
before any command lines.

c.r:
  $(CC) -c $(CFLAGS) -o $(RDIR)/$*.r $*.c

This will tell GCC to (-c) compile to .r and (-o) put the RFILE in the RDIR.
