Larry, I've not done the math on the get/put stuff. However, if memory serves,
setting lset to 2 enables ORing the data. Leaving it at default means that the
PUTs overlay the existing data. Could it be that there is a problem with the
get expanding to a full-byte boundary or something? Have you fooled around with
the GETs to try for a smaller area to see what happens?

Interesting...I assumed that successive puts were destroying the right edge of
the early ones. However, when I put in a 'wait' routine after the PUTs I see
that the right edge isn't being PUT at all. Guess we'll have to hammer at Kevin
to get an answer to this one.
