Not quite, heh.  Rangers and ninjas can both use *any* weapon.  Any.
Why do you use a katana if you think it doesn't hit hard enough?  Use an
ebony, a headcutter, starsteel, sunsword, chakram... why does a ranger
have to use a better weapon than a ninja?  Personally I'm using a
sunsword right now, and I sure don't triple crit for 60-90... Try
90-250, average of 50 per crit.  And, considering I get 4 swings a round
and crit 1/3 of the time, that's some pretty nice damage.  I'd just love
to see a ranger critting 1/3 of the time... assuming he has a cat's-eye
and mithril ring, that's 54 MA at level 37 (what I am).  Heh, I don't
think so.
