   hmm, i though ss.cursr was for vdg screens only.  also, the reason I want to
alter the hardware screen memory is to perhaps find a better way of handling a
hardware screen mouse driver (such as those found in DOS packages with mouse
support) (as opposed to the routine I just uploaded).  thank you for your help.
