In answer to your first question, if you're asking how to directly alter
the text screen memory, my answer is that it's not wise to do that. The
terminal screen is an output device and by the philosophy of os9 any output to
the device should be funneled through the op system. You can do pretty much
anything you would like to a text screen (cursor control, underlining ect.) via
control code writes to the screen (see page 5-1 in the windowing sec. of the
lvl II manual). See if you can do what you want 'by the book' before resorting
to anything sleazy like hacking around with system memory.
You can get the cursor position by executing a SS.CURSR GetStat system
call. See page 8-118 in the tech. ref. section of the manual. Also, read up
on the SYSCALL Basic09 command or the _os9() C language function.
