MC> That way, I have never been. You're describing the 101 while I always
MC> use the 5. One day I would like to use the 101 and visit all those
MC> coastal towns in Calif and Ore and even Astoria where Kindergarden Cop
MC> was filmed.
We have our famous 49 mile drive that runs through San Francisco also.
MC> I remember driving through the upper lake region on a secondary road
MC> near Truckee off I-5 in winter after a radical snow storm. The street
MC> was plowed, but the snow was at least 4' deep at the road edges, so
MC> you felt as if you were in a snow maze. Some structures were nearly
MC> buried in snow with some icicles being as thick and large as small
MC> trees. Awesome! Maybe not so to our friends in the white north, for us
MC> southern Californians, where 1 cm of snow is an event, this was
MC> spectacular!
hehehehe....I know, my mother's house always just disappears under the snow,
thank goodness I know the way to her house!!!! If it snows down in the Bay
Area, mostly hail, but I have been through a few years when they had 1 cm.
of snow! Nobody knows what to do then!
