Lee,

A trick I use to capture a MV (or other) screen with menus and mouse cursor, is
to go to another shell screen and use:

  sleep 300; vefio -wx >file

Then I flip back to the MV screen... and after the sleep times out, vefio grabs
exactly what I'm seeing, menus and all.
