subject: rangers vs. ninja

VI>a tripple crit! woohoo!.. totaling 60-90 damage.. oh wow..
VI>a ranger tripple crit.. easy over 100 damage most of the time.
VI>im swinging a katana 3/4 maybe crit about 10-30% depending on where im
VI>at, and dont tell me its my character, or my stats, its ninja's in
VI>general, enhanced crits are pretty, but the damage just isnt there, my
VI>crit range is 19-39, most often they are in the mid 20's, regular hits
VI>are 4-19 (ya, for some reason i can both hit and crit for 19).
VI>a ranger w/ good int can easily crit about as often, if he is using a
VI>good weapon and of equal level.
Ok, if you're using a katana and your title is Manhunter, then that's
the reason right there. My triple crit rounds are around 100-120 when
they're good with a trident. I don't often see rangers triple crit,
however, so I can't judge myself against one. Also, a ranger with "good
int" will have severely sacrificed other stats that he'd need as well.
Most likely it'd be strength meaning there's no way he'll be getting
tons of triple crits with an ebony or headcutter. From my personal
experience, I see my ninja with a dragontooth doing more damage than
most other characters. I think I'm around the same damage or just a
little less than a paladin with 100 str, 2 levels higher, and with an
ebony. If you're only getting 10% crits than it IS your char or your
stats. I've run mudchar on a .log file of myself scripting overnight and
found my crit% to be 28, average damage/hit: 21, average damage/round
54. Try getting a man's weapon like a skull sword or dragontooth and if
you're not out-hitting warriors and paladins, then you can complain.
