Dear James: I am not certain what you mean about setting the most significant
bit of the last d. I am looking at a dump of my stock /dd (40 track
 single sided) and I have a line 64e4 5242 c643 etc. I think that the 64e4
refers to dd but I am not sure. Please explain further. Thank you, with all
