Bob - most of those programs either use VDG screens (direct access), or rely
somewhere on get/setstat calls which the serial driver doesn't know how to
process (and really can't).

If you can find a program which only uses escape codes for output, does no
get/setstt calls for windows, and doesn't use the mouse... then that will work.
But there are not many (any?) of those.  - kev
