KZ>Okay, I agree with what you're saying on the gas mileage part. I never
KZ>did disagree that an Integra gets better gas mileage than a Z28. One
KZ>thing I have to point out though is that you're comparing prices for
KZ>90's Integras to 90's Camaros. But what you're failing to take into
KZ>consideration is that the Camaros are cheaper to begin with than the
KZ>Integras. So of course it's going to still be the cheaper car when
No, they've always been about the same... The difference has never been
more than a few hundred.
KZ>comparing used cars. You can't expect a car that costs more new than
KZ>the car you're comparing it to, to still not cost more used...unless
KZ>it's in poor condition.
That proves my point even further. Old Camaros are usually all in poor
condition by the time they're this old, while Integras are still running
strong. And as a result, Integras will are much easier to sell because they're in higher demand.
KZ>And just another thing to add in about the gas mileage part, if you use
KZ>anything less than premium gasoline (93/92 octane) in a Z28 you will
KZ>definately notice a difference in performance. Whereas, in an Integra
KZ>you could probably get away with using mid-grade or even regular without
KZ>noticing a big difference in performance. Thus reducing those gasoline
KZ>figures even more. That's the advantage the Integra has over the Z28.
Oh yeah, that's true huh? And since premium gas costs about 20 cents
more per gallon, let's recompute: (120,000/17) x $1.6 = Camaro =
$11,294. That is so much damn money for gas!!! $11,294 - $5,600 =
$5,694 lost.
KZ>However, the speed/power factor weighs heavily in the Z28's favor. So I
KZ>mean, it's up to the individual and what they're looking for as to which
KZ>car to choose. Personally, I'd take an Integra any day, if it was going
KZ>to be my daily driver car...because I have my muscle truck I can pull
KZ>out when I feel like blasting down the street. But if I didn't have my
KZ>truck in reserve, I'd take the Z28 because I'd rather have the power
KZ>available for when I want to get nuts than extra gas mileage. Well
KZ>actually, I'd rather take a Formula instead cuz I think they look
KZ>better...and I've always loved the Pontiac birds more than the Camaro.
Yeah, the Camaro looks better in V6 form, but Trans Ams just look a lot
cooler and more aggressive than Z28s. Makes you wonder why they're the
slowest-selling. Did you see that 98 Camaro yet?
