Sure, there's no doubt that you could draw faster than going through the
system.  You probably couldn't scroll much faster though.

And of course it limits where the program can be used.  For example, I'd bet
that EthaGUI would run on the ST, but it starts up with a direct-access fancy
title which unfortunately (because ST screens use less memory) writes all over
system structures and blows up.  Too bad.
