I had a similar crash awhile ago. This really makes you start keeping backups
current! What I did was use ded to suck the data off the HD onto floppies. Very
tedious, but I did get most of the important stuff. BTW, using ded on a HD is
frustrating--ded thinks sectors are 256 bytes long, while on the HD they are
512. So you constantly have to multiply by 2 to get the correct "sector" when
looking for FDs, etc.
