 Tom,

Stephen Carville isn't on CIS. You will find him on DELPHI as PAGAN. I
don't know how often he frequents the OS-9 forum but he does check his mail
 every few days.

Looking at your message, it sounds like you have an older version of the
VGAKBD driver. I assume you're using the termcap stuff I sent you. From
 shell, try the following -

'echo \1b[7m' This turns reverse video ON
'echo \1b[27m' This turns reverse video OFF

If these don't work, try the following -

'echo \1bj' This turns reverse video ON
'echo \1bk' This turns reverse video OFF

If the first pair don't work and the latter pair do, go into your termcap
file and change the entries accordingly. This also tells you you have an
older version of the VGAKBD driver. I added the ANSI sequences a couple
of years back. But I don't know when Fred started to distribute the new code
with the boards he sells. BTW, the new driver still supports the old
 sequences.

If you have the older driver, you can ask Fred for the new driver or, I can
send it to you if Fred OKs it.
