Erich - I think that fix was only for the second FD502 drive from Tandy.

Any other drive... just set the jumper so that the motor is always on with the
"motor on" signal (versus motor on with drive select).  There may be a very few
drives out there with no such jumper tho.  They're usually there, tho (oops, I
can't recall the jumper markings... MM maybe?  guys?).
