Not to worry... you're not missing anything or going crazy :-)   A couple of
the sysops have been messing around in a test section, and that's using up the
message numbers.

Once in a while, I know I also post a message but it gets garbled, so I delete
it and repost it... which also uses up numbers.

In any case, there's just been a lot more of all the above lately, and that's
why you're seeing the higher numbers without seeing the messages as well.
