First off, to resist 50 points of a damage spell, that player
would need to have at LEAST 300 MRES, Which isn't going to happen.
Secondly, the MRES system does not reduce spells by a set NUMBER, per
say... Yes, it uses a set number (1 pt for each 5 MRES above 50) to
determine how much will be resisted, but the resistance is *NEVER* more
than 50% even if ya have 1000 MRES and a 15 pt spell hits you.
So, if the mage cast what would normally be a 70 point spell, the
lowest it would go would be 35 and that would be against a player with a
high enough MRES to reduce 35 pts or more...
