You could apply that same arguement to all spells. "The only
thing magical about acid jet is making acid appear from nowhere, I don't
care how hard the witchunter concentrates, he's not going to resist a
big splash of acid hitting because this is nothing magical abut acid.".
With that statement in mind, what exactly is the point of magic
resistance? To resist spells and their effects.
