Hello Sean! 08 May 09 19:04, Sean Dennis wrote to Mike Tripp: SD> The DOS EXE is no problem (I run Infomail against my netmail area on SD> each run), but should I put that before the initial toss or the second SD> toss in my Internet Rex BETWEEN.CMD (the actual file that calls the SD> tosser). Sorry for the misinfo about only DOS EXE. It is the only one that works for me because I run it in the after-call cleanup of the BBS BAT...which is DOS for me on either the true DOS BBS node or the OS2 telnet/vmodem node in VDM. I also have some added personal confusion over having installed 2 different Echofix programs with different purposes into the same destination dir before getting the one I was really after. Since I have multiple boxes/multiple OSes/multiple mail doors, I have each door create an echotoss log (required arg by echofixd) which lists only the tags they uploaded to, and an IF EXIST in the post-processing to call echofixd, SQUISH OUT w/echotoss log parm, and then kill echotoss. No uploads/no invocation, only affected areas are "fixed", only in the event that a door user uploaded messages. Echofix doesn't keep it's own private lastreads and tries to fix the whole area on each run...so you don't want to waste time fixing areas that weren't uploaded to by the door or running against the mass of areas that may or may not be in echotoss log with normal mailer sessions. SD> I run Squish to toss mail in, then run all of my utilities, SD> then call Squish again to scan all areas and toss out new mail. I use single-pass in my mailer-triggered event, so might miss some gotchas for multi-pass. In theory, the highwater should only be adjusted when scanning OUT. If you're using an echotoss log there, you probably don't want to use it to invoke Echofix, since you don't need to fix everything that comes in from your uplink/downlinks (or stuff you entered yourself via your local editor). As long as you configure your mail door(s) to create a unique (path and/or filename) one as users upload via the door, you should be use that as the Echofix argument (and cleanup afterwards) in the middle of your util block between an IN and an OUT run of Squish. .\\ike --- GoldED/2 2.50+* Origin: -=( The TechnoDrome )=- Austin,TX 512-327-8598 33.6k (1:382/61) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/331 14/250 18/200 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 222/2 SEEN-BY: 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1410 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/104 260 267 285 690/682 734 SEEN-BY: 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 2905/0 @PATH: 382/61 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
