2 of my brother-in-laws went thru pretty much the same thing, both have now
managed to get back on their feet after particularly rough times. Took them
about 3-5 years before that happened though. Both found it rather
depressing but now see it as a good thing. Neither had the advantage that
you do of online communities full of people going thru the same thing.

I honestly don't know what it's like but I've seen enough to know it takes time.
