-> May I add my condolences to you and Poc-Poc, he's been
-> throught a very painful experience, and it must make
-> you feel helpless.
Thanks for the condolences. We have been through quite a battle. He is
out of pain now. His main problem now is hunger. He hates the k/d
special food that the vet has him on and will eat it only as a last
resort and then only a little. He is a large cat, but he is thin as a
rail. He got out of the bedroom and got into some dry dog food and was
woofing it down with a relish. I feel so sorry for him. He has never
liked canned cat food.
-> I kept 250 mg VC tablets on hand and broke them into
-> 8 pieces and popped them down the affected cat's throat
-> every hour or so. This kept them comfortable until I
-> could either get them to the vet or get a prescription
I am so glad for this information. I had another cat with the same
problem a couple of years ago, but never did I hear this. If I had
known, I might have saved him a lot of pain. The vet gave him some
pills to take, but they were white and I was never quite sure what they
were. He is really good about taking tablets. Not so the pink liquid
antibiotic. If he smells it, he gets under the bed. I have to be
quick!
Have a good day -- thanks for the info.
