Charles, I ran into a similar problem as this with QM45TD.  Perhaps 
this will help you.
Check to see if you have a file in your QM directory named: QMHOST.BAT.
If true, look if it has a line that starts with: DOORWAY 
If true, you need a DOORWAY.EXE file in your QM directory.
DOORWAY.EXE is written by someone other than Mustang and can be 
downloaded from most bbs. (DRWY230.ZIP) It's a shareware program.
If this don't fix it, try scanning the DOCS for "clues".(g)
(my clue was, "DOORWAY.EXE is bundled with QMHOST".)
(It wasn't! (G) ...therefore I went hunting.)
