[snip] Thanks for the background; that was the feel I got from conversations when I briefly worked in Germany (Gottingen). It was a bit scary when we visited a friend's house and his father insisted on showing us an entire basement full of Nazi memorabilia: banners and other decorations mostly, but the one I particularly remember was an anti-British propaganda song on a 78 which he insisted on playing on an old wind-up gramophone. I would have guessed that the denial started during the war though, with people refusing to mentally join the dots which would have forced them to acknowledge what was happening. -- Tony --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-5* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 379/45 1 633/267 |
