I found this link, a rather long URL.. :)

But I think what he needs is in the INSTALL file included with each module. I
have found that it is important the order that you build the different parts of
the husky tools. I always start with the huskybse directory. Copy the
huskymak.cfg to the root folder and edit if needed, then huskylib, smapi,
fidoconfig, areafix, hpt, htick, sqpack and others if needed.

On slackware I need the LIBDIR= line in huskymak.cfg to point to lib64 instead
of lib but I am not sure he needs that or not in his setup.
