Sorry about that, David.  If Patrick has already helped, please 
disregard this message.  
Can you confirm that the modem will answer (with silent answer turned 
off)?  
What is your current initialization string?  
How many rings before FaxTalk is set to answer?  
How many rings before your answering machine answers?  
Is there a short silent space on your outgoing message?
