If they weren't Muslim riots, why is it that 9 Synagogues and several
Christian churches were torched and not a single mosque was touched.  Sure
there were some non-Muslims in the mix, but it was still by a large riots
by Muslim criminals.

It might be true to say the rioting wasn't initially inspired by religion.
It was a youth crime gang thing really.  However, religion played a large
role in who the rioters targeted which made the riots Muslim as an accurate
description of the people rioting and whom they were targeting.
