Official answer from your local modem dealer: nope, no chance. Truthful answer
(from experience) is yes, it works fine; flash the modem first, then change
the datapump. However, make sure you're going to be able to change the chip
okay first (like you'll need a PLCC chip remover); once you've flashed with
the new ROMs, there's no going back. Also your flash ROM uploader will
probably check, find a V.FC modem and complain. It may have an override
switch somewhere (undocumented).
