The V.FC are flash upgradable, but not to any better protocols (V.34 or V.34+),
and Supra are not doing any more V.FC ROM upgrades. V.34 was flash
upgradable to V.34+ if you had a recent enough datapump, otherwise you just
get added features. The V.FC had a few nice features that were actually
removed in later V.34 ROMs, like the remote configuration options (you
could get command mode on the remote modem if you knew the escape sequence
and the password). Also V.25bis command mode is gone.
