One possibility is that some NSA people rebelled not at the concept but at
specific use.  Was Jesse Jackson one of those monitored?

Was the capability used EXCLUSIVELY to evaluate the use of the
numbers/addresses/details captured in Afghanistan and elsewhere, or was it
also used to track anti-war campaigners?

Like I said, if anyone like that was on the list, the fact will eventually come out.
