Concerning the BBS, over the years, I've developed a small series of batch
files that run the entire BBS.  Using a program called SCHEDULE, a PM-based
"cron" program, I just run the batch files to do what I want. 
The nightly event is controlled by Telegard itself since all of the nodes
need to be shut down to rebuild the program's indices but the main BBS
itself is run from a single batch file.
