I don't understand your question... So far, all Fidonet participant's
names, including yours, have shown up on this side of the gateway in the
form "firstname.lastname!zone.net.node.point{at}filegate.net". If I
were going to do anything maliciously special to yours, I would simply not
let posts from "Charles.Angelich!1.106.2000.0{at}filegate.net"
through to the Internet side of things, which would render you essentially
invisible here.

This is a new system which only began working in the last 48 hours. Despite
what you may think, I'm nowhere near ready to start tweaking with it, and
especially so simply out of spite.

If the format causes problems with your, or anyone else's, OLR, now would
be a good time to let us know so things can be tuned to everyone's benefit.

I understand that. What I don't understand is why such a pretest should be
useful in qualifying people to discuss C programming.

Quality happens everywhere. You have to mine tons of dirt to come up with
one even one large gem-quality diamond. By increasing the available supply
of dirt (I know you'll appreciate the analogy), you're a lot more likely to
find diamonds.

Actually, first of all, it had to have Tom's blessing since he's the
Fidonet C_Echo moderator. He's the one who had the final say whether to
proceed or not. I asked about it and he agreed, so the project moved
forward. The link is just as easy (a lot easier, as it turns out) to
dissolve than it was to set up in the first place. It will remain in place
ad long as it has has the C_Echo moderator's support. If you'd like to
change it, then run for the moderator's job.
