There is are two slights problem using DOSBOX.

One is minor. When Bluewave opens a QWK packet in a VDM in XP, it
manages to leave the date/time stamp on the file as it was to start
with. It uses that fact to creat an index that shows how many messages
are in previous QWK packets, how many read, how many personal. When
runing in DOSBOX, the time/date stamp gets updated when Bluewave exits
-- and hence that index does not work.

The second one is a bit more serious. There is a file that BW packs up
into the QWK packet that contains the marks put onto messages (S, P, R,
read). I believe it is a *.XTI file. Because of a bug in Bluewave,
which XP DOS forgives but DOSBOX does not, that file does not get
properly created when running in DOSBOX. There is a fix for this. It
is on the DOSBOX forum. Anyone who is interested in following the
discussion and downloading a fix for this problem can visit the DOSBOX
forum, and in particular the thread:

or tinyurl of http://tinyurl.com/bwfix

On page 2 of that thread, ripsaw8080 gives a file for download that is
the fix -- file name = BWAVEFIX.ZIP (1.55kb).
