I am in charge of an average sized P.A. system. It includes
an old 24 channel mixer desk, two TOA amplifiers, two
cassette decks, 3 radio mikes, plate mike a stand mike
and about 12 instruments, including 2 DI boxes and the
rest being microphones of some kind or other. There are also
two large forback speakers, with slaves. The 'Loop' system is
for the hard of hearing and is used with an old 30 watt microphone
amplifier and a piece of wire which goes around the whole building's
edge.
The problem being, is that the electric guitars are picking up the loop.
Is there any way to stop this from happening? Wrapping the pickups in
baking foil etc..? I have found that rotating the guitars through 45 degress
cuts it out, but I need something more permanant then having all the
guitarists sitting funny...
